   Standard Stratocaster specs, 3 single coil pickups, vintage tremolo arm, 1 volume, 2 tone controls, 5 way selector switch. Mid pickup is reverse wound/reverse polarity for hum canceling in positions 2 and 4.

Action, Fit and Finish: 3/5
   Body is a nice looking piece of basswood, clear finished. It’s up to you to decide if you want to paint it. I painted mine a dark blue, and it came out looking nice. It’s possible to just leave it the way it is, though. The neck comes unfinished, and feels very nice. It’s a good idea to put some finish on it though, to keep it from warping. Frets are nicely crowned, no real issues. I keep the action pretty high for solos, but it’s possible to get it pretty low. Truss rod took a few turns, but nothing that major. If you don’t know how to do this, take it to a tech!

Sound: 5/5
   Beautiful sound! Bridge pickup sounds great when the amp gets cranked. When I play rhythm, I roll the treble off the middle pickup and play with the neck and middle pickups selected. It’s amazing. I may switch these pickups out at some point, but for now, I’m keeping them!

   Considering the price, this is one of the best guitars out there. I like my Saga Tele more, but I’m partial to all Teles. Sure, you have to put it together, and if you don’t know what you’re doing, it can be a little difficult. The instructions that come with the kit are great, and I had no problems. The tuners are a little shaky, and I’ll change them eventually, but I’ve had more problems with guitars that sell for more than three times the price of this guitar! I would highly recommend this kit to anyone who is interested in building and playing their own guitar. If you’re just starting out, after you put it together, take it a tech to get set up. It’s not that much money, and it’ll save you a bunch of headaches. The only thing you need to do, however, is change the strings. The ones that come with the guitar are awful, and you shouldn’t bother using them.
